Food

During our last week in Haiti we had the opportunity, because of many generous people, to buy food for ten Haitian families in need. We chose these families because they were in need, but also because we knew that they would share it. On our first attempt to buy food we purchased 300lbs of rice and several gallons of oil (a staple in every household in Haiti). The person who we bought the food from did not have enough food, so we had to go back a few days later. When we went back the price for a bag of rice jumped considerably...in THREE days! This is the reoccurring problem in Haiti. Most Haitians do not make enough to buy food, and when the prices jump it makes it almost impossible for them to provide for themselves and family. In total we were able to purchase over 500lbs of food! Praise God! There were a lot of grateful people, and those people are praying for those who gave money to help them. Thank you all for your help!

(I had to take some of these pictures through the car window, so we did not draw too much attention to ourselves)

Luke and I are now back in Dallas, and moving into our new apartment. We have been very busy, and have not finished processing our time in Haiti, but things are going well, and we are just so blessed!
